IN THE FEDERAL COURT OF AUSTRALIA
NEW SOUTH WALES DISTRICT REGISTRY N 965 OF 2001
BETWEEN: NAGESH PASSI
APPLICANT
AND: MINISTER FOR IMMIGRATION AND MULTICULTURAL AFFAIRS
RESPONDENT
JUDGE: STONE J
DATE: 14 AUGUST 2001
PLACE: SYDNEY
REASONS FOR JUDGMENT 1 The applicant, a citizen of India, arrived in Australia on a student visa on 13 November 1998. He applied to the respondent ("Minister") for a protection visa under the Migration Act 1958 (Cth) ("Act") on 20 March 2001. His application was refused by a delegate of the Minister on 3 April 2001 and that decision was affirmed by the Refugee Review Tribunal ("Tribunal") on 19 June 2001. On 21 June 2001 the applicant applied to this Court for a review of that decision, although his application did not specify why the applicant was aggrieved by the decision, the grounds of review or the orders sought. The application simply stated that 'the details will send in a later date'.
