An Act to amend the Australian Wool Research and Promotion Organisation Act 1993, and for related purposes

The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1 Short title

This Act may be cited as the Australian Wool Research and Promotion Organisation Amendment (Funding and Wool Tax) Act 2000.

2 Commencement

This Act commences on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

3 Schedule(s)

Each Act that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1—Amendments

Australian Wool Research and Promotion Organisation Act 1993

1 After subsection 6(1A) Insert:

(1B) The Organisation also has the function of planning, facilitating and participating in: (a) the reform, privatisation or abolition of the Organisation; or (b) the establishment of a new body or bodies to perform any of the Organisation's other functions or the conferral of any of those functions on an existing body or bodies; or both.
