The Parliament of Australia enacts:
1 Short title
This Act may be cited as the Commonwealth Electoral Amendment Act (No. 1) 2000.
2 Commencement
(1) Subject to this section, this Act commences on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.
(2) Schedule 2 is taken to have commenced on 3 October 2000.

Each Act that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect according to its terms.
Schedule 1—Provision of information
Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918
1A After subsection 17(1) Insert:
(1A) A report under subsection (1) in relation to the operations of the Commission for the year ending on 30 June 2001, and for each subsequent year, must include particulars for that year of: (a) each person or organisation to whom the Commission has provided a copy of a Roll under subsection 91(4A); and (b) in respect of any Roll provided under paragraph 91(4A)(e)—the purpose for which the information was provided.
1 Paragraph 91(4A)(e) Omit "or of any supplement to a Roll", substitute ", of any supplement to a Roll or any extract of any Roll".
