An Act to amend the Customs Tariff Act 1995, and for related purposes

The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1 Short title

This Act may be cited as the Customs Tariff Amendment Act (No. 2) 2001.

2 Commencement

(1) Subject to subsections (2), (3), (4) and (5), this Act commences on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

(2) The amendment of the Customs Tariff Act 1995 made by item 1 of Schedule 1 to this Act is taken to have commenced on 13 May 2000.

(3) The amendments of the Customs Tariff Act 1995 made by items 2 to 16 of Schedule 1 to this Act are taken to have commenced on 1 July 2000.

(4) The amendments of the Customs Tariff Act 1995 made by items 17 to 22 of Schedule 1 to this Act are taken to have commenced on 2 March 2001.

(5) The amendments of the Customs Tariff Act 1995 made by items 23, 24 and 25 of Schedule 1 to this Act are taken to have commenced on 4 April 2001.

Subject to section 2, each Act that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect according to its terms.
