The Parliament of Australia enacts:
1 Short title
This Act may be cited as the Higher Education Legislation Amendment Act (No. 1) 2002.
2 Commencement
This Act commences on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.
3 Schedule(s)
Each Act that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect according to its terms.
Schedule 1—Amendment of the Higher Education Funding Act 1988
1 Paragraph 60(1)(a) After "Chapter 4A", insert ", Chapter 4B".
2 After paragraph 61(1)(aa) Insert: (ab) the making by the Commonwealth of payments under Chapter 4B, or of advances on account of payments under that Chapter; and
3 After Chapter 4A Insert:
