STATES GRANTS (HOME CARE) AMENDMENT ACT 1978

An Act to amend the States Grants (Home Care) Act 1969.
BE IT ENACTED by the Queen, and the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:
Short title, &c. 1. (1) This Act may be cited as the States Grants (Home Care) Amendment Act 1978. (2) The States Grants (Home Care) Act 1969 is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act.
Commencement 2. This Act shall come into operation on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.
Grant of financial assistance in connexion with home care services 3. Section 6 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting from sub-section (1) "two-thirds" and substituting "one-half".
Grant of financial assistance in respect of salaries 4. Section 10 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting from sub-section (1) "two-thirds" and substituting "one-half".
Application of amendments 5. (1) The amendment made by section 3 has effect in relation to the year that commenced on 1 July 1978 and subsequent years. (2) The amendment made by section 4 has effect in relation to salary paid in respect of any period that commenced on or after 1 July 1978.
