Notes An Act to establish supervisory mechanisms for the provision of superannuation benefits to certain persons, and for related purposes
1 Short title [see Note 1]
This Act may be cited as the Superannuation Benefits (Supervisory Mechanisms) Act 1990.
2 Commencement
This Act commences on 1 July 1990.
3 Interpretation
(1) In this Act:
excluded Territory authority or body means: (a) the Australian Capital Territory or the Northern Territory; or (b) an authority or body established or incorporated for a public purpose by a law of the Australian Capital Territory or the Northern Territory; or (c) a company or other body corporate in which the Australian Capital Territory or the Northern Territory has a controlling interest; or (d) an authority or body that is financed wholly or substantially, either directly or indirectly, by money provided by the Australian Capital Territory or the Northern Territory; or (e) a company or other body corporate in which a body politic, or other body or authority, referred to in paragraph (a), (b), (c) or (d) of this definition has, or 2 or more such bodies or authorities together have, a controlling interest.
