An Act to amend the National Health and Medical Research Council Act 1992, and for related purposes

The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1 Short title

This Act may be cited as the National Health and Medical Research Council Amendment Act 2006.

2 Commencement

(1) Each provision of this Act specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1, Part 3 The latest of: 1 July 2006 (a) the day after this Act receives the Royal Assent; and (paragraph (b) applies) (b) 1 July 2006; and (c) immediately after the commencement of item 34 of Schedule 1 to the Financial Framework Legislation Amendment Act (No. 1) 2006. However, the provision(s) do not commence at all if the event mentioned in paragraph (c) does not occur. 4. Schedule 1, Part 4 The later of: 1 July 2006 (a) the day after this Act receives the Royal Assent; and (paragraph (b) applies) (b) 1 July 2006.
