An Act to amend the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989

The Parliament of Australia enacts:
1 Short title
This Act may be cited as the Therapeutic Goods Amendment Act (No. 3) 2006.
2 Commencement
This Act commences on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.
3 Schedule(s)
Each Act that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect according to its terms.
Schedule 1—Amendments
Therapeutic Goods Act 1989
1 Paragraph 37(1)(a) Omit "in writing".
2 At the end of section 37 Add:
(3) An approval of a form mentioned in paragraph (1)(a), or a notice mentioned in subsection (2), may require or permit an application or information to be given in accordance with specified software requirements: (a) on a specified kind of data processing device; or (b) by way of a specified kind of electronic transmission.
