An Act to amend the Migration Act 1958, and for related purposes

The Parliament of Australia enacts:
1 Short title
This Act may be cited as the Migration Amendment (Statutory Agency) Act 2007.
2 Commencement
This Act commences on the day after it receives the Royal Assent.
3 Schedule(s)
Each Act that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect according to its terms.
Schedule 1—Amendments
Migration Act 1958
1 After Part 7 Insert:
Part 7A—Statutory agency for purposes of Public Service Act
473A Statutory agency for purposes of Public Service Act
For the purposes of the Public Service Act 1999: (a) the Principal Member of the Refugee Review Tribunal and the persons mentioned in subsections 407(4) and 472(4) together constitute a Statutory Agency; and (b) the Principal Member of the Refugee Review Tribunal is the Head of that Statutory Agency.
