An Act to amend the Customs Tariff Act 1995, and for related purposes

The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1 Short title This Act may be cited as the Customs Tariff Amendment (ASEAN‑Australia‑New Zealand Free Trade Agreement Implementation) Act 2009.

2 Commencement (1) Each provision of this Act specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1 At the same time as Schedule 1 to the Customs Amendment (ASEAN‑Australia‑New Zealand Free Trade Agreement Implementation) Act 2009 commences. 1 January 2010 3. Schedule 2 The later of: Does not commence (a) the start of the day Schedule 1 to the Customs Tariff Amendment (Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme) Act 2009 commences; and (b) immediately after the commencement of the provision(s) covered by table item 2. However, the provision(s) do not commence at all unless both of the events mentioned in paragraphs (a) and (b) occur.
