An Act to amend the law relating to social security and to the Indigenous Land Corporation, and for related purposes

The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1 Short title This Act may be cited as the Social Security and Indigenous Legislation Amendment (Budget and Other Measures) Act 2010.

2 Commencement (1) Each provision of this Act specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 2, item 14 The day after this Act receives the Royal Assent. 30 June 2010 6. Schedule 2, item 15 The later of: 1 July 2010 (a) the start of the day after this Act receives the Royal Assent; and (b) immediately after the commencement of item 42 of Schedule 2 to the Social Security and Other Legislation Amendment (Welfare Reform and Reinstatement of Racial Discrimination Act) Act 2010. However, the provision(s) do not commence at all if the event mentioned in paragraph (b) does not occur. 7. Schedule 2, item 16 The day after this Act receives the Royal Assent. 30 June 2010 8. Schedule 2, item 17 Immediately after the commencement of item 12 of Schedule 1 to the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme Amendment (Household Assistance) Act 2010. Never commenced 9. Schedule 2, item 18 The later of: 30 June 2010 (a) the start of the day after this Act receives the Royal Assent; and (b) immediately after the commencement of item 28 of Schedule 2 to the Social Security and Other Legislation Amendment (Income Support for Students) Act 2010. However, the provision(s) do not commence at all if the event mentioned in paragraph (b) does not occur. 10. Schedule 2, item 19 The later of: 1 July 2010 (a) the start of the day after this Act receives the Royal Assent; and (b) immediately after the commencement of item 64 of Schedule 2 to the Social Security and Other Legislation Amendment (Welfare Reform and Reinstatement of Racial Discrimination Act) Act 2010. However, the provision(s) do not commence at all if the event mentioned in paragraph (b) does not occur. 11. Schedule 2, items 20 to 37 The day after this Act receives the Royal Assent. 30 June 2010 12. Schedule 2, Parts 2 to 4 The day after this Act receives the Royal Assent. 30 June 2010 13. Schedule 2, Part 5 The later of: 30 June 2010 (a) the start of the day after this Act receives the Royal Assent; and (b) immediately after the commencement of item 28 of Schedule 2 to the Social Security and Other Legislation Amendment (Income Support for Students) Act 2010. However, the provision(s) do not commence at all if the event mentioned in paragraph (b) does not occur. 14. Schedule 2, Part 6 The day after this Act receives the Royal Assent. 30 June 2010 15.
