An Act to amend the Higher Education Support Act 2003, and for related purposes

The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1 Short title This Act may be cited as the Higher Education Support Amendment (Indexation) Act 2010.

2 Commencement This Act commences on 1 January 2011.

3 Schedule(s) Each Act that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1—Amendments

Higher Education Support Act 2003

1 Section 198‑5 Repeal the section, substitute:

198‑5 The amounts that are to be indexed This table sets out the amounts that are to be indexed.

2 Subsection 198‑10(1) Repeal the subsection, substitute: (1) An amount is indexed on 1 January 2012, and on each subsequent 1 January, by multiplying it by the *indexation factor for the relevant year.
