1 Short title [see Note 1]
This Act may be cited as the National Crime Authority (Status and Rights of Former Chairman) Act 1984.
2 Commencement [see Note 1]
This Act shall come into operation on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.
3 Interpretation
In this Act:
office under the Commonwealth includes: (a) an office established by, or an appointment made under, a law of the Commonwealth or a law of a Territory other than the Northern Territory; (b) an appointment made by the Governor‑General or a Minister otherwise than under such a law; (c) an office or appointment in the service or employment of a corporation established for a public purpose by or under a law of the Commonwealth or a law of a Territory other than the Northern Territory; (d) an appointment as a director of an incorporated company over which the Commonwealth is in a position to exercise control; or (e) an office or appointment in the service or employment of such an incorporated company.
