Birds Protection Regulations 1988 _______________________________________________________________________
Short title
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Birds Protection Regulations 1988. Interpretation 2. In these Regulations, "Act" means the Birds Protection Act 1913. Protected birds 3. For the purposes of the definition of "protected bird" in section 2 of the Act, each species and sub-species of bird is a prescribed species, other than — (a) a species or sub-species specified in the Schedule; (b) a species or sub-species of birds in danger of extinction specified in Schedule 2 to the Migratory Birds Act 1980; or (c) a species or sub-species of migratory birds specified in Schedule 3 to the Migratory Birds Act 1980.
