BOOKMAKERS (RSL RACE DAYS) REGULATIONS 1999

I, A.J. Messner, Administrator of Norfolk Island, acting in accordance with the advice of the Executive Council of Norfolk Island, make the following Regulations under the Bookmakers and Betting Exchange Act 1998. Dated 30 December 1999.

Short title 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Bookmakers (RSL Race Days) Regulations 1999. Exemption from operation of Act – RSL Race Days 2. For the purposes of paragraph 51(1)(k) of the Bookmakers and Betting Exchange Act 1998, a person taking a bet from a natural person situated on Norfolk Island on a horse race constituting part of a race day held by the Norfolk Island RSL Sub Branch in the vicinity of the Norfolk Island Golf Club on or about 1 January or Easter Day in any year is exempt from all provisions of that Act if that person — (a) is approved in writing by the executive member for the purposes of this Regulation; and (b) complies with any conditions of that approval. _______________________________________________________________________
