The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1 Short title This Act is the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (Consequential Amendments and Transitional Provisions) Act 2018.

2 Commencement (1) Each provision of this Act specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1, Parts 1 and 2 The later of: 1 January 2019 (a) the start of the day after this Act receives the Royal Assent; and (paragraph (b) applies) (b) immediately after the commencement of the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission Act 2018. However, the provisions do not commence at all if the event mentioned in paragraph (b) does not occur. 3. Schedule 1, Part 3 Immediately after the commencement of the Aged Care (Single Quality Framework) Reform Act 2018. 1 July 2019 However, the provisions do not commence at all if that Act does not commence. 4. Schedule 2 The later of: 1 January 2019 (a) the start of the day after this Act receives the Royal Assent; and (paragraph (b) applies) (b) immediately after the commencement of the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission Act 2018. However, the provisions do not commence at all if the event mentioned in paragraph (b) does not occur.
