Currency Regulations2 (Amendment)
I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Currency Act 1965. Dated 21 February 1984.

Commencement 1. These Regulations shall come into operation on 1 March 1984.
Designs of coins 2. Regulation 4 of the Currency Regulations is amended— (a) by omitting from sub-paragraph (b) (i) "and"; (b) by omitting sub-paragraph (b) (ii) and substituting the following sub-paragraphs: "(ii) in the case of a coin of the denomination of $1—7 coarse milled segments of the same length separated by 7 plain segments each approximately 4.40 millimeters in length; and (iii) in any other case—milled;"; and (c) by inserting after sub-paragraph (d) (viiib) the following sub-paragraph: "(viiiba) in the case of a coin of the denomination of $1—the inscription '1 DOLLAR' and a representation of 5 kangaroos;".

3. After regulation 6 of the Currency Regulations the following regulation is inserted:
The Schedule to the Act "7. The Act shall have effect, on and after 1 March 1984, as if— (a) there were included in the Schedule to the Act a reference to a denomination of 'One dollar'; and (b) there were specified in that Schedule opposite to that denomination, as the standard composition of coins of that denomination, the standard composition 'copper, aluminium and nickel' ".
Schedule 4. The Schedule to the Currency Regulations is amended by omitting— "$10............................... 20.00 34.10 2.90 0.50"
and substituting— "$10............................... 20.00 34.10 2.90 0.50 $1................................ 9.00 25.12 2.80 0.28".
