Currency Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Currency Act 1965.

1. Amendment 1.1 The Currency Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

2. Regulation 3 (Weight, dimensions and remedy of coins) 2.1 Subregulation 3(1a): Omit "10a". substitute "20".

3. Regulation 4 (Designs of coins) 3.1 After subparagraph 4 (c) (iac), insert: "(iad) in the case of a coin of the denomination of $10. being a coin referred to in subparagraph (d) (viiiee)—an effigy of the Queen and the inscriptions 'ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA' and '10 DOLLARS', all encircled by raised beads inside the rim of the coin;".

3.2 After subparagraph 4 (c) (iv), insert: "(iva) in the case of a coin of the denomination of $150—an effigy of the Queen and the inscriptions 'ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA' and '150 DOLLARS', all encircled by raised beads inside the rim of the coin; "(ivb) in the case of a coin of the denomination of $500—an effigy of the Queen and the inscription 'ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA' and '500 DOLLARS', all encircled by raised beads inside the rim of the coin; "(ivc) in the case of a coin of the denomination of $2,500—an effigy of the Queen and the inscription 'ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA' and '2,500 DOLLARS', all encircled by raised beads inside the rim of the coin; "(ivd) in the case of a coin of the denomination of $10,000— an effigy of the Queen and the inscription 'ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA' and '10,000 DOLLARS', all encircled by raised beads inside the rim of the coin;".
