Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters (United States of America) Regulations 1999
Statutory Rules 1999 No. 150 I, WILLIAM PATRICK DEANE, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters Act 1987. Dated 29 June 1999.

1 Name of regulations
These regulations are the Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters (United States of America) Regulations 1999.
2 Commencement
These regulations commence on 1 October 1999.
3 Application of Act
The Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters Act 1987 applies to the United States of America subject to: (a) the Treaty between the Government of Australia and the Government of the United States of America on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters, done at Washington in the United States of America on 30 April 1997, a copy of the text of which is set out in Schedule 1; and (b) the exchange of notes comprising: (i) the Note dated 30 April 1997, relating to the Treaty, from the Department of State, Washington to the Embassy of Australia, Washington, a copy of the text of which is set out in Schedule 2; and (ii) the Note dated 30 April 1997, relating to the Treaty, from the Embassy of Australia, Washington to the Department of State, Washington, a copy of the text of which is set out in Schedule 2.
