1 Name of Regulations
These Regulations are the Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters (Suppression of Terrorist Bombings) Regulations 2002.
2 Commencement
These Regulations commence on the commencement of Schedule 1 to the Criminal Code Amendment (Suppression of Terrorist Bombings) Act 2002.
3 Definitions In these Regulations: Act means the Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters Act 1987. Convention means the International Convention for the Suppression of Terrorist Bombings, done at New York on 15 December 1997, a copy of which is set out in Schedule 1.
4 Application of the Act
The Act applies, subject to the Convention, to each country mentioned in Schedule 2. Schedule 1 The Convention (regulation 3)

The States Parties to this Convention,
Having in mind the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations concerning the maintenance of international peace and security and the promotion of good-neighbourliness and friendly relations and cooperation among States,
Deeply concerned about the worldwide escalation of acts of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations,
