AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Boeing 767 Series Aeroplanes AD/B767/208 Nose Wheel Well Bulkhead Vertical Chords 4/2005
Applicability: Model 767-200, -300, and -300F series aircraft, as listed in Boeing Alert Service Bulletin 767-53A0113, dated 26 February 2004, or later FAA approved revision. Requirement: Action in accordance with the technical requirements of FAA AD 2005-02-02 Amdt 39-13947. Compliance: As specified in the Requirement document, with a revised effective date of 14 April 2005. This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 14 April 2005. Background: The FAA received reports of cracks in the fillet radii of the left and right butt line (BL) 25 vertical chords common to the nose wheel well bulkhead at station 287. Cracks in the left and right BL 25 vertical chords, unless detected and corrected, could grow downward into a critical area that serves as a primary load path for the nose landing gear.
