Currency (Perth Mint) Determination 2005 (No. 2)

I, CHRIS PEARCE, Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasurer, make this Determination under subsections 13 (2) and 13A (1) of the Currency Act 1965.

1 Name of Determination

This Determination is the Currency (Perth Mint) Determination 2005 (No. 2).

2 Commencement

This Determination commences on the day after it is registered.

3 Standard composition of coins

(1) For subsection 13 (2) of the Currency Act 1965, that Act has effect, on and after the day on which this Determination commences, as if: (a) there were included in the Schedule to that Act a reference to the denomination 'Thirty thousand dollars'; and (b) there were specified in that Schedule, opposite to that denomination, as the standard composition of coins of that denomination, the standard composition 'at least 99.99% gold'.

(2) For subsection 13 (2) of the Currency Act 1965, that Act has effect, on and after the day on which this Determination commences, as if: (a) there were included in the Schedule to that Act a reference to the denomination 'Three hundred dollars'; and (b) there were specified in that Schedule, opposite to that denomination, as the standard composition of coins of that denomination, the standard composition 'at least 99.9% silver'.

4 Specification of coins

For subsection 13A (1) of the Currency Act 1965, each item in Schedule 1 specifies, for a coin having the denomination and standard composition specified in that item: (a) the coin's standard weight, and the allowable variation from that weight; and (b) the coin's dimensions; and (c) the coin's designs.

5 Application of Determination

The specifications in Schedule 1 do not affect any other determination of the specifications of a coin. Schedule 1 Specifications of coins (section 4)
