AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Dornier 328 Series Aeroplanes
AD/DO 328/2 Alternator Power Cables 13/2005
Applicability: Model 328-100 series aeroplanes.
Requirement: If not previously accomplished, carry out the following actions in accordance with Fairchild Dornier GmbH Dornier 328 Service Bulletin SB-328-24-433 dated
12 April 2002:
a. Re-alignment of the alternator power cable retaining clamps.
b. Installation of protective sleeving on the alternator power cables.
c. Installation of additional ty-raps on the alternator power cables.
Note: LBA AD D-2003-084 refers.
Compliance: Before 31 January 2006.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 22 December 2005.
Background: Actions required by this Directive are designed to prevent the AC power cables from chafing against the alternator.
