Dornier 328 Series Aeroplanes AD/DO 328/14 Engine Air Intake De Icing System 1/2006
Applicability: Dornier 328-100 aeroplanes. Requirement: 1. Carry out an inspection of the engine air intake de-icing boots in accordance with paragraph 2.B.1 of Dornier 328 Service Bulletin No. SB-328-30-432 dated 26 April 2002 or later LBA approved revisions.
2. Carry out an inspection and operational check of the engine air intake de-icing boots in accordance with paragraph 2.B.2 of Dornier 328 Service Bulletin No. SB-328-30-432 dated 26 April 2002 or later LBA approved revisions.
Note: LBA AD 2002-256 refers. Compliance: 1. At intervals not to exceed 60 flight hours.
2. At intervals not to exceed 800 flight hours. This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 19 January 2006. Background: The engine air intake de-icing system eliminates any ice formation on the leading edges of the engine air intakes. There have been several problems with debonded or delaminated de-icing boots. The consequence following a debonding or delamination of the engine-inlet de-icing boot could be an engine failure due to severe intake flow restriction.
