AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Dornier 328 Series Aeroplanes AD/DO 328/13 Engine Controls Power and 1/2006 Condition Control Cables
Applicability: Dornier 328-100 series aeroplanes. Requirement: Lubricate the engine control push pull cables in accordance with Dornier 328 Alert Service Bulletin No. ASB-328-76-022 dated 22 December 1997 or later LBA approved revisions.
Note: LBA AD 1998-105 refers. Compliance: Unless previously accomplished the initial lubrication is to be accomplished within 30 days after the effective date of this AD. Thereafter the requirement is to be repeated at every 300 flight hours. This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 19 January 2006. Background: Ice build-up on the engine control push pull cables can cause friction or jamming of the engine controls resulting in loss of control of the engine(s).
