AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Pacific Aerospace 750XL Series Aeroplanes AD/750XL/6 Centre Console Wiring Loom 2/2006 TX
Applicability: Model 750XL aeroplanes serial numbers 110 to 120 inclusive. Requirement: If not previously accomplished, inspect and modify the insulation on the wiring looms within the cockpit centre console in accordance with Pacific Aerospace Corporation Service Bulletin PACSB/XL/016 Issue 1 dated 23 September 2005. Note: CAA(NZ) AD DAC/750XL/6 refers. Compliance: Within ten hours time in service after the effective date of this Directive. This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 9 December 2005. Background: An in-services electrical short circuit has been reported to the New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority, involving abrasion of the wiring insulation against the fasteners of the plug back-shells on the wiring loom located in the cockpit centre console. This Directive requires an inspection of the wiring loom together with the installation of additional mechanical protection for the wiring and tie-wraps securing the looms away from the back-shells of the plugs.
