An Ordinance to amend the Supervision of Offenders (Community Service Orders) Act 1985 of the Australian Capital Territory, in its application to the Jervis Bay Territory
1 Name of Ordinance
This Ordinance is the Supervision of Offenders (Community Service Orders) Ordinance 2005.
2 Commencement
This Ordinance commences on the day after it is registered.
3 Amendment of Supervision of Offenders (Community Service Orders) Act 1985
The Supervision of Offenders (Community Service Orders) Act 1985 of the Australian Capital Territory is amended, in its application to the Territory, as set out in Schedule 1.
Schedule 1 Amendments of Supervision of Offenders (Community Service Orders) Act 1985 (section 3)
1 Section 3, before definition of community corrections officer
insert APS employee has the meaning given by the Public Service Act 1999 of the Commonwealth. Commonwealth Minister means the Minister of the Commonwealth administering the Jervis Bay Territory Acceptance Act 1915 of the Commonwealth, and any Minister of the Commonwealth acting for or on behalf of that Minister.
2 After subsection 4 (2)
insert
(2A) The Commonwealth Minister may appoint an APS employee to perform the functions of a community corrections officer.
3 Subsection 4 (3)
omit subsection (2).
insert subsection (2), and any APS employee appointed under subsection (2A).
