SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Airbus Industrie A319, A320 and A321 Series Aeroplanes
AD/A320/156 Hydraulic Bay Maintenance Lights 8/2004
Applicability: Model A318, A319, A320 and A321 series aeroplanes, all serial numbers, except those on which Airbus Industrie Modification 33518 has been embodied during production or Airbus Industrie Service Bulletin (SB) A320-92-1032 dated 8 March 2004 has been incorporated whilst in service.
Requirement: Remove the maintenance light with part number (P/N) 2LA002606-01 from the hydraulics bay and disconnect the electrical wiring in accordance with SB A320-92- 1032.

Compliance: Before 31 December 2005.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 5 August 2004.
Background: Airbus Industrie has determined during a explosion risk design review that a hazard exists in the hydraulic bay area (blue and yellow hydraulic system) and that maintenance lights 9LL and 10LL (P/N 2LA002606-01) should be removed to protect the bay from fuel vapour ignition.
