COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
Airbus Industrie A319, A320 and A321 Series Aeroplanes
AD/A320/34 Braking System Electrical Relays 13/93 Applicability: All A320 series aeroplanes without Airbus Industrie modification 23611. Requirement: Action in accordance with Airbus Industrie Service Bulletin A320-32-1115 dated 16 June 1993.
Note: DGAC AD 93-163-043(B) dated 29 September 1993 refers.
Compliance: Prior to 30 September 1994.
Background: Airbus Industrie has received reports of Braking/Steering Control Unit (BSCU) failures being caused by voltage peaks on relays 24GG and 25GG. This Directive mandates the replacement of both relays with overvoltage protected relays, thus decreasing the probability of BSCU failure. The DGAC compliance date is extended by one calendar month.
