Applicability: All Model A320 and A321 aircraft without Modification 24389 incorporated.
Requirement: Action in accordance with Airbus Industrie Service Bulletin (SB) A320-52-1057 Revision 6.
Note: DGAC AD 1999-148-130(B) refers.
Compliance: Before 31 August 2000.
This Amendment becomes effective on 15 July 1999.
Background: This Directive requires certain actions to the passenger door rods, fittings, and locking devices in order to prevent possible freezing of the door locking mechanism which could delay the evacuation of passengers during an emergency.
Amendment 1 is issued in response to a revision of the related DGAC AD which calls up SB A320-52-1057 Revision 6 as the Requirement Document to correct an anomaly in previously issued Revision 5 of the Service Bulletin.
The original issue of this Airworthiness Directive became effective on 2 March 1995.
