Passenger Door and Emergency Door Actuator Striker Mechanism

Applicability: All Airbus Industrie A319, A320, and A321 aircraft, without Airbus Industrie modification 26015 (doors 1 and 4 for A319, A320, and A321 aircraft) and Airbus Industrie modification 26211 (doors 2 and 3 for the A321 aircraft) or Airbus Industrie Service Bulletin (SB) A320-52-1094 Revision 1, incorporated.
Requirement: Inspect in accordance with the requirements of DGAC AD 1998-482-122(B) R1.
Note: Airbus Industrie A320 AOT 52-12R1 and SB A320-52-1094 and SB A320-52- 1094R1 refer.
Compliance: Initial and repetitive inspections as specified in the Requirement Document with a revised effective date of 25 March 1999.
The compliance time of this Directive remains unchanged. This Amendment becomes effective on 15 July 1999.
Background: This Directive requires certain actions to prevent jamming of the passenger door and emergency door actuator mechanism that could delay the evacuation of passengers during an emergency.
Amendment 1 introduced additional requirements.
Amendment 2 is issued in response to a new DGAC AD which deletes reference to a certain applicability modification.
Amendment 1 of this Airworthiness Directive became effective on 25 March 1999. The original issue of this Airworthiness Directive became effective on 18 July 1996.
