COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Safety Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/A330/14 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Windshield Central Retainer 8/2003
Applicability: Model A330-202, -223, -243, and -343 aircraft, Manufacturing Serial Numbers 0396 through 0398, 0400, 0401, 0403 through 0405, 0407 through 0409, 0412, and 0418 through 0421.
Requirement: Inspect the windshields central retainer in accordance with Airbus Service Bulletin A330-56-3006.
Note: DGAC AD 2003-123(B) R1 refers.
Compliance: Within 6 months after 15 May 2003.
The compliance time remains unchanged by this issue. This Amendment becomes effective on 7 August 2003. Background: The manufacturer has determined the possibility exists that the windshields central retainer bolts installed at production, may have been of insufficient length to ensure safe nut engagement.
Amendment 1 is issued in response to a revisio n of the related DGAC AD which clarifies applicability.
