SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Airbus Industrie A330 Series Aeroplanes
AD/A330/25 Auxiliary Power Unit Control Box 12/2003
Applicability: A330 model -202, -203, -223, -243, -301, -321, -322, -323, -341, -342 and -343
aeroplanes, all serial numbers, except for aeroplanes with Airbus modification 50245 embodied during production or whilst in service in accordance with Airbus Industrie Service Bulletin (SB) A330- 49-3025.
Requirement: Install a decoupling diode 62KD in the Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) control box 5000VE in accordance with SB A330- 49-3025.
Note: DGAC AD 2003-350(B) refers.
Compliance: Before 30 September 2004.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 27 November 2003.
Background: This Directive requires the installation of a decoupling diode in the APU control box. The installation of the diode is designed to prevent APU shutdown occurring during flight due to loss 'in flight' signal information.
