Brackett Air Filter Gasket 8/99
Applicability: Aircraft fitted with one of the following Brackett Aircraft Company air filter assemblies fitted as original equipment or in accordance with Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) SA71GL or STC SA693CE:
BA-2010 BA-5110A BA-4106 BA-6110 BA-4106-1 BA-8910 BA-4210 AAF-117 BA-5110 AAF-118
Requirement: To prevent particles from a defective gasket entering the carburettor which may result in partial or complete loss of engine power:
1. a. Visually inspect the air filter frame internally and externally for evidence of gasket looseness, movement or deterioration in accordance with Brackett Air Filter Document 1-194, and
1. b. Replace any air filter assembly found to have a defective gasket with an air filter assembly as detailed in Requirement 2 of this directive.
2. Replace the air filter assembly, as applicable, with one of the following air filter assemblies which incorporate a retainer lip:
