AD/ALF/20 Flow Divider Fuel Tube - Inspection 3/2003 DM
Applicability: Honeywell ALF502 Series engines as identified in the Requirement Document. Requirement: Carry out inspection as detailed in FAA AD 2003-02-01, Amdt 39-13017. Compliance: Within 100 flight hours after the effective date of this Directive.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 29 January 2003.
Background: Inadequate clamping resulted in fatigue failure of primary fuel supply tube on an ALF502 engine causing engine fire. This Directive mandates an inspection to ensure that fuel tubes are clamped per the design requirements.
