COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
AMD Falcon 50 and 900 Series Aeroplanes
AD/AMD 50/11 Engine Exhaust Duct Clamps 3/96
Applicability: Model Mystere-Falcon 50 series aircraft serial numbers 2 through 216; equipped with engine exhaust duct attachment clamps part number (P/N) NH1002299-10 or NH1007763-10.
Requirement: 1. For aircraft equipped with clamps P/N NH1002299-10, remove, discard and install exhaust duct attachment clamps in accordance with the technical requirements of Dassault Aviation Service Bulletin F50-229 (F50-54-13) Revision 1.
2. For aircraft equipped with attachment clamps P/N NH1007763-10, remove, inspect and install exhaust duct attachment clamps in accordance with the technical requirements of Dassault Aviation Service Bulletin F50-229 (F50-54-13) Revision 1.
Note: FAA AD 94-14-15 and DGAC AD 93-113-013(B) refer.
Compliance: 1. Prior to 1 April 1996.
2. Unless previously accomplished, prior to 1 June 1996.
Background: The manufacturer has advised of the possibility of cracks occurring in the engine exhaust clamps due to fatigue. This Directive mandates the replacement of existing clamps with reinforced clamps which have larger section bands and improved clamp resistance.
The manufacturer has further advised that some reinforced clamps have been stamped with the incorrect torque value, therefore this Directive mandates inspection of the clamping screw and engraved marking on the reinforced clamp.
