COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY
SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
AMD Falcon 50 and 900 Series Aeroplanes
AD/AMD 50/25 Cockpit Lighting 5/2002
Applicability: All Mystère Falcon 50 and Falcon 50 EX aeroplanes serial numbers 2 through 270 inclusive without Dassault Aviation Service Bulletin (SB) F50-318 dated 6 February 2002 incorporated.
Requirement: 1. Check the wiring configuration of the aeroplane's optional lighting in accordance with SB F50-318 Part 1.
2. If, as a result of the Requirement 1 check, the wiring configuration is found to be incorrect, modify the wiring in accordance with SB F50-318 Part 2.
Note: DGAC AD 2002-086-036(B) R1 refers.
Compliance: Requirements 1 and 2 - Within 13 months from the effective date of this Directive.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 16 May 2002.
Background: Dassault has advised the French Direction Générale de l'Aviation Civile that some Mystère Falcon 50 and Falcon 50 EX may be incorrectly wired, with some optional lighting wiring being directly fed from the battery without being routed through a circuit breaker.
This Directive requires inspection of the wiring and, if necessary, modification of the wiring.
Eugene Paul Holzapfel
Delegate of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority 27 March 2002
The above AD is notified in the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette on 24 April 2002.
