COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES AMD Falcon 50 and 900 Series Aeroplanes AD/AMD 50/9 Electrical Power 13/95 Applicability: This Directive is applicable to Mystere-Falcon 900 series aeroplanes, serial numbers 53 through 139 inclusive, equipped with a Fairchild Model F800 Flight Data Recorder (FDR), installed in accordance with United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Supplemental Type Certificate SA7255SW-D. Requirement: 1. Modify the electrical power installation for the FDR in accordance with paragraph 3.C.(1), Part 900-54-1, of Falcon Jet Corporation Service Bulletin 900-54 (F900 31-1) Revision 1 dated 17 November 1994. Then prior to further flight, subsequent to incorporation of this modification, perform the checks and test in accordance with paragraph 3.D.(1), Part 900-54-1, of the same service bulletin. 2. Replace the currently installed ground power socket box with a reworked socket box in accordance with paragraph 3.C.(2), Part 900-54-2, of Falcon Jet Corporation Service Bulletin 900-54 (F900 31-1) Revision 1 dated 17 November 1994. Then prior to further flight, subsequent to accomplishment of this installation, perform the checks and test in accordance with paragraph 3.D.(2), Part 900-54-2, of the same service bulletin. Note: FAA AD 95-19-16 Amdt 39-9378 refers. Compliance: For Requirement 1 - At the next scheduled inspection, but no later than 7 February 1996. For Requirement 2 - Prior to 7 December 1996. Background: Action required by this Directive is prompted by reports to the FAA indicating that generators may shut down due to an intermittent relay failure of the FDR and is intended to prevent loss of electrical power to the aeroplane due to generator outage.
