COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES Boeing 737 Series Aeroplanes AD/B737/101 Elevator Feel and Centering Unit 4/97 Applicability: All model 737-300, -400, and -500 series aircraft up to and including line position 2764. Requirement: Inspect in accordance with the technical requirements of FAA AD 96-25-17 Amdt 39- 9860. Note: Boeing Alert Service Bulletin 737-27A1194 refers. Compliance: As specified in the Requirement Document with a revised effective date of 27 March 1997. Note: Installation of supports and a stop-bolt in accordance with Boeing Alert Service Bulletin 737-27A1194 constitutes terminating action for the repetitive inspections required by this Directive, provided that no damage is detected during any inspection required by paragraph (a) of the Requirement document. Background: The FAA received a report of high control column forces that occurred during takeoff and landing. The actions specified by this Directive are intended to prevent such high forces, which could result in restriction of elevator control during takeoff, climbout, and landing.
