AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/B737/158 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Fuel System Wiring Shielding and Separation 6/2002
Applicability: All Model 737-100, -200, -300, -400 and -500 series aeroplanes.
Requirement: Provide shielding and separation of the fuel system wiring (that is routed to the fuel tanks) from adjacent wiring in accordance with either:
1. a method approved by the Section Head, Systems; Certification Standards Branch; Aviation Standards Division; Civil Aviation Safety Authority, or
b. FAA Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) No ST00847SE dated 6 October 2000, or
c. FAA STC No ST00127BO dated 5 September 2000.
Note 1: FAA AD 99-03-04 Amdt 39-11018 paragraph (a) refers.
Note 2: FAA Transport Airplane Directorate Letter 130S-00-0626 dated 11 October 2000 approves FAA STC ST00847SE as an Alternate Method of Compliance (AMOC) for paragraph (a) of FAA AD 99-03-04.
Note 3: Applications for the approval of a method to provide shielding and separation of the fuel wiring system are to be forwarded through the Engineering Support Branch office responsible for the applicant.
