COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Boeing 737 Series Aeroplanes
AD/B737/207 Fuel Hose Coupling - Inspection 3/2003
Applicability: Model 737-600, -700, -800 series aeroplanes listed in Group I or II of Boeing Alert Service Bulletin 737-73A1011 Revision 2 dated July 13 2000, certified in any category.
Requirement: Action per the requirements, including initial inspection and repetitive inspections, of FAA AD 2002-14-21 Amdt 39-12821.
Note 1: This Directive supersedes AD/B737/179 Amdt 1 which was based on FAA AD 99-03-08.
Note 2: FAA AD 2002-14-21 supersedes FAA AD 99-03-08.
Compliance: As detailed in the Requirement document with a revised effective date of 20 March 2003.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 20 March 2003.
Background: This Directive mandates an inspection and corrective action plan to prevent fuel leak due to chafing of a fuel hose coupling on the engine fan case firewall.
