Amdt 1
Forward Door Escape Slide 13/96
Applicability: Model 737-300, -400, and -500 series aircraft, with line numbers up to and including 2211; equipped with Air Cruisers forward door escape slides as listed in Air Cruisers Company Service Bulletin 103-25-19, Revision 7.
Requirement: Action in accordance with the technical requirements of FAA AD 96-18-04 Amdt 39- 9728.
Note: References made in the FAA AD text to the FAA Principal Maintenance Inspector (PMI), shall be read as CASA District Office.
Compliance: As specified in the Requirement Document.
Background: The FAA received reports of incorrectly routed and unserviceable forward door escape slide velcro girt retaining straps. This condition could result in unusable slides or jammed doors during an emergency evacuation.
Amendment 1 is issued in response to a new FAA AD which requires modification of the escape slide girts.
