COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
Boeing 737 Series Aeroplanes
AD/B737/8 Amdt 2
Evacuation Slide Compartment Latch Assembly 9/87
Applicability: All model B737 with S/Nos listed in the Requirement document. Requirement: Action in accordance with Boeing Alert SB 737-25A1182R4. Note: FAA AD 85-25-04 and FAA AD 86-05-04 refer.
Compliance: Prior to 31 March 1986.
Background: During a B737 emergency evacuation, when the right hand forward service door was opened, the escape slide outer pack cover opened prematurely, blocking further opening of the door and allowing the escape slide to partially come out of the shell onto the aircraft floor. Amendment 2 of this Directive references Revision 4 of the Requirement document and the FAA ADs on this subject. Aircraft modified in accordance with Amendment 1 of this Directive do not require additional work.
