Applicability: All Boeing 747-400 series aircraft as listed in Boeing Alert Service Bulletin 747- 23A2241 Revision 3.
Requirement: Action in accordance with Boeing Alert Service Bulletin 747-23A2241 Revision 3.

Compliance: Prior to 2 April 1993.
Background: This AD has been prompted by reports of chafed wires in the advanced cabin entertainment service system (ACESS) wire bundle resulting in short circuits which led to burned wire bundles. This condition, if not corrected, could result in smoke and fire in the passenger cabin.
