COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES Boeing 747 Series Aeroplanes AD/B747/202 Wing Inboard Foreflap Sequence Carriage Attachment 6/99 Applicability: Model 747-100, 747-200B, 747-200F, 747-200C, 747SR, 747-100B, 747-300, 747- 100B SUD, 747-400, 747-400D, and 747-400F aircraft; line numbers 1 through 1,116. Requirement: Perform a one-time detailed visual inspection of the foreflap outboard sequence carriage attachment fitting to detect any discrepancy (missing, loose, or migrated shim; and loose fasteners) in accordance with Boeing Alert Service Bulletin 747- 57A2302, or Boeing Service Bulletin 747-57A2302 Revision 1. If any discrepancy is detected, accomplish follow-on corrective actions in accordance with the applicable chapter of the Boeing Airplane Maintenance Manual specified in either of the service bulletins. Note: FAA AD 99-05-02 Amdt 39-11051 refers. Compliance: Within 1,500 landings after 17 June 1999, or before 17 December 2000, whichever occurs first. This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 17 June 1999. Background: The FAA received a report that a piece of the left wing inboard foreflap came off during a landing approach and penetrated the fuselage.
