SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
Boeing 747 Series Aeroplanes
AD/B747/208 Wing Front Spar Web at Inboard Engine Struts 8/99
Applicability: Model 747-100, 747-200, and 747-SP series aircraft; as listed in Boeing Service Bulletin 747-57A2303 Revision 1.
Requirement: Action in accordance with the technical requirements of FAA AD 99-10-09 Amdt 39- 11162.
Compliance: As specified in the Requirement Document for the initial and repetitive inspection requirements with a revised effective date of 12 August 1999.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 12 August 1999.
Background: The FAA received reports of fatigue cracks on the aft surface of the wing front spar web. Such fatigue cracking could result in a fuel leak, and consequent increased risk of fire.
