Boeing 767 Series Aeroplanes
AD/B767/104 Main Landing Gear Front Trunnion Support Pin 11/98
Applicability: Model 767 series aircraft having line positions 1 through 562.
Requirement: Inspect in accordance with the technical requirements of FAA AD 98-16-07 Amdt 39- 10683.
Note: Boeing Alert Service Bulletin 767-57A0047 Revision 1 refers.
Compliance: As specified in the Requirement Document with a revised effective date of 8 October 1998.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 8 October 1998.
Background: The FAA received reports indicating that pin assemblies in the forward trunnion support of the main landing gear were found to have corroded as a result of plating cracks. Corrosion in a pin assembly could result in breakage, and consequent collapse of the main landing gear.
