SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Boeing 767 Series Aeroplanes
AD/B767/171 Flight Compartment Air Distribution Duct 7/2002
Applicability: All model 767 series aircraft having the line numbers listed in the requirement document.
Requirement: 1. Inspect, rework or replace if necessary the water line heater tape and the duct assemblies of the flight compartment air distribution system in accordance with paragraph (a) of the technical requirements of FAA AD 2001-26-09 Amdt 39- 12573.
2. Replace the duct assemblies or replace the existing BMS 8-39 foam insulation on the ducts of the air distribution system for the flight compartment in accordance with paragraph (b) of the technical requirements of FAA AD 2001-26-09 Amdt 39-12573.

Compliance: 1. Before 11 January 2004.
2. Before 11 July 2008.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 11 July 2002.
Background: The FAA AD has been raised to prevent ignition of foam insulation on the air distribution ducts, which could result in a fire in the aircraft.
