COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES Boeing 767 Series Aeroplanes AD/B767/60 Brake Wear Limit 1/92 Applicability: Model 767 series, equipped with brake part number identified in paragraph (a) of the requirement document. Requirement: Action in accordance with the technical requirements of FAA AD 91-18-10 Amdt 39- 8013. Compliance: As specified in the requirement document, with a revised effective date of 12 January 1991 for Australian Registered Aircraft. Background: An investigation by the FAA of a runway excursion by a transport category aircraft following a rejected takeoff, has revealed that the majority of brake assemblies were neat the current maximum wear limit and unable to absorb the required takeoff energy. This Directive requires new maximum brake wear limits. The effective date required by the FAA is extended by two months.
